Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform CT and radiographic imaging following prescribed techniques and protocols to produce high-quality diagnostic images
• Adjust imaging equipment settings, immobilization devices and shielding to ensure optimal image acquisition and patient safety
• Prepare exam rooms, position patients, prepare contrast material and necessary supplies for procedures
• Perform daily cleaning and routine maintenance of x-ray and CT equipment
• Complete required quality control tasks and maintain accurate QC reports for procedures performed
• Assist with scheduling, phone triage and general clerical duties to keep the imaging team running smoothly
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to call assignments as required
• Apply radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure for patients and staff

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal radiologic technologist training program approved by the AMA
• ARRT registration required
• CT certification and at least 6 months experience in Computerized Tomography
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• MRI certification preferred but not required
• Willingness to relocate to and work in a rural community

Education

• Completion of an AMA-approved radiologic technologist training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Computed Tomography (CT) imaging and CT protocols
• General radiography and x-ray technique
• Radiation protection principles and patient safety
• Image acquisition and quality control procedures
• Contrast administration and exam preparation
• Patient positioning and compassionate patient care
• Equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting
• Scheduling, communication and teamwork in a busy imaging department
