Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field and ensure instrument readiness for a wide range of surgical procedures
• Assist surgeons and the OR team during procedures across specialties including orthopedics, neuro/spine, robotics, urology, GYN, ENT and plastics
• Set up and manage advanced surgical systems (robotic platforms such as DaVinci, Mako, Exactech, Stealth)
• Anticipate surgeon needs and provide timely instrument and device delivery to support smooth, efficient cases
• Participate in rotating call schedule, responding professionally and promptly to urgent surgical needs
• Adhere to all hospital and state regulatory requirements, promoting patient safety and infection control
• Document case details accurately and communicate effectively with circulating staff and perioperative teams

Qualifications

• Active Colorado Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license with DORA — REQUIRED
• Certification in Surgical Technology from NBSTSA, AST or NCCT
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Graduate of an accredited scrub technologist program
• Proven experience in Orthopedics (total joint), Neuro/Spine, Robotic Surgery, Urology, GYN, ENT and Plastics
• Comfort with trauma and general surgery cases is a plus
• Willingness to work 4x10 day shifts and participate in a rotating on-call schedule

Education

• Graduate of an accredited scrub technologist program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Sterile technique and strict adherence to infection control practices
• Operating Room workflows and instrumentation across multiple specialties
• Experience with robotic systems: DaVinci, Mako, Exactech, Stealth
• Proficiency in total joint and orthopedic instrumentation and procedures
• Neurosurgical and spine instrumentation familiarity
• Ability to function calmly under pressure in trauma and urgent surgical situations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills within multidisciplinary OR teams
