Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting to preserve dignity and comfort
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe patient mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Provide compassionate, respectful care and build rapport with patients and families
• Maintain accurate documentation of care, observations, and communications
• Follow infection control procedures and facility policies to keep patients and staff safe
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support care plans

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification in New Mexico (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or obtain upon hire if required by facility)
• Ability to pass background check and any required health screenings or immunizations
• Reliable communication skills and a patient-first attitude
• Previous CNA experience preferred but enthusiastic new CNAs are welcome

Education

• Completion of an accredited CNA program
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with basic patient care tasks and ADLs
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs
• Awareness of infection prevention and control practices
• Good observational skills to notice changes in patient condition
• Teamwork and clear communication with nurses and support staff
• Time management and ability to prioritize tasks during shifts
