Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage patients and determine priority of care based on clinical need and patient flow
• Perform focused assessments of chief complaints in a timely, guideline-driven way
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses safely and accurately
• Provide wound care, clean and bandage injuries, and perform phlebotomy as needed
• Manage patient movement and transfers while coordinating with the care team
• Maintain supplies and equipment to ensure the unit runs smoothly overnight
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient status according to policy
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff to deliver excellent emergency care

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license to practice in the State of Colorado (required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required upon hire
• TNCC required upon hire or must be obtained within 1 year
• ENPC or PALS required within 6 months (ENPC preferred)
• At least 2 years of critical care or emergency nursing experience preferred
• Specialty certification in emergency or critical care nursing is a plus
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently on night shift

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and triage expertise
• Focused patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Medication administration and IV/phlebotomy skills
• Wound care and basic procedural skills
• BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC/PALS familiarity and requirements
• Patient movement/transfer and time management under pressure
• Ability to follow hospital policies and the Nurse Practice Act
