Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients using the nursing process and prioritize care based on clinical changes
• Develop and implement individualized care plans that promote recovery and comfort
• Provide direct critical care in the ICU, including hemodynamic monitoring and response to unstable patients
• Communicate changes in patient condition and abnormal results to physicians promptly
• Teach patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge needs with compassion
• Direct and mentor other nursing personnel while maintaining high standards of care
• Document care and clinical findings accurately and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
• Participate in competency testing and specialty skills assessments to maintain excellence

Qualifications

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital with critical care/ICU experience
• CCRN certification preferred
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred
• Ability to pass required health and screening checks including drug screen, TB testing, fit test, and required immunizations

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and critical thinking in high-acuity situations
• Care planning, implementation, and evaluation using the nursing process
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpreting diagnostic data
• Direct ICU/critical care patient management and rapid response
• Patient and family education with strong communication skills
• Familiarity with EPIC or similar electronic medical records
• Professionalism, teamwork, and the ability to mentor others
