Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and stabilize patients presenting to the emergency department with speed and compassion
• Provide high-quality nursing care including medication administration, IV therapy, and advanced life support when needed
• Perform rapid clinical decision making and collaborate with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Document patient status and interventions accurately and timely in the medical record
• Lead and participate in resuscitations and critical care interventions using ACLS, PALS, and BLS protocols
• Complete required competency testing and skills checks to maintain clinical readiness
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care with empathy and clarity
• Support a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license with Nursys verification (must be current and in good standing)
• Minimum 2+ years recent RN experience in an Emergency Department
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Additional certifications welcomed: DCI/BVP or equivalent trauma/ED credentials
• Two professional references required
• Successful completion of required screenings: drug screen, TB/PPD, immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap), fit test, and any facility-specific health requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Proficiency in rhythm interpretation and basic pharmacology
• Comfort managing adult and pediatric emergencies
• Excellent critical thinking, prioritization, and time management
• Clear communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Familiarity with ED workflows, documentation, and core competencies testing
