Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room for a variety of surgical cases
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and equipment to support flawless procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR team members to coordinate patient care
• Perform pre- and post-operative patient assessments and document care accurately
• Respond to call situations promptly and professionally to ensure continuity of care
• Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical experience
• Complete required competency testing and skills checklists to meet clinical standards

Qualifications

• Current RN license (Nursys verification preferred) with active authorization to practice in NJ
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Prior Operating Room experience required — must be able to hit the ground running
• Ability to work assigned evening hours and participate in call coverage
• Completion of required facility onboarding checks: immunizations, TB test, fit test, drug screen, and specialty screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — or equivalent nursing education and licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative protocols
• Comfortable with intraoperative monitoring and assisting during surgical procedures
• Ability to interpret rhythms and basic pharmacology (Prime exams and rhythm screening expected)
• Effective communication and teamwork skills in high-acuity settings
• Detail-oriented documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Adaptability to OR workflows and ability to respond calmly under pressure
