Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and stabilize emergency and critical care patients with confidence and compassion
• Deliver high-quality ICU/ED nursing care including medication administration and monitoring
• Perform NIHSS assessments accurately for stroke evaluation when indicated
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient-centered plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and complete required Prime competency exams
• Operate and monitor advanced equipment (telemetry, ventilators) and respond to alarms
• Participate in unit-based trainings and maintain required certifications
• Provide family-centered communication and clear patient education during transitions of care

Qualifications

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/ED nursing experience and training
• BLS required upon hire and must be maintained
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained
• NIHSS certificate required
• NRP, DCI/BVP, and Nursys registration as listed in order set
• PALS required within 30 days of hire for units admitting pediatric patients
• BSN preferred; RN-C preferred within 2 years of hire
• Completion of onboarding requirements: Prime Core Competencies, Skills Checklist, Specialty and Pharmacology exams

Education

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency and critical care assessment skills
• Proficiency with ACLS, BLS algorithms and NIHSS stroke scales
• Experience with ventilator care, cardiac monitoring, and acute pharmacology
• Solid clinical decision-making in high-acuity, fast-paced settings
• Familiarity with electronic medical record documentation and competency testing
• Infection control practices and adherence to required health screenings
