Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients continuously using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Provide direct telemetry care and monitor cardiac rhythms closely
• Communicate changes in patient condition and diagnostic results promptly to physicians
• Implement and evaluate individualized care plans to promote patient safety and recovery
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and coordinate activities of other nursing personnel
• Respond quickly and accurately to clinical deterioration and changes in response to treatment
• Maintain standards of care in the Telemetry Unit and document care thoroughly

Qualifications

• Current, valid state RN license required
• BLS and ACLS required
• Nursys verification required
• DCI/BVP certification listed in credentials
• Telemetry experience and comfort with cardiac monitoring strongly preferred
• Ventilator management experience preferred
• Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred and other standard health requirements (TB, MMR, Hep B, etc.)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring proficiency
• Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Care planning, implementation and evaluation
• Patient and family teaching and education skills
• Basic rhythm interpretation and cardiac telemetry alarm management
• Familiarity with infection control and standard hospital screening requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
