Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized peri-procedural nursing care for cardiac catheterization patients with focus and precision
• Prepare patients, equipment, and the procedure room to maintain a safe, sterile environment
• Monitor hemodynamics and cardiac rhythms, and promptly report changes to the care team
• Administer medications and assist with procedural sedation per facility policy
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and support staff to ensure smooth, efficient procedures
• Document patient care and procedural details accurately and timely
• Respond effectively during procedural complications and emergencies to support positive outcomes
• Participate in competency checks and complete required Prime exams and checklists to maintain proficiency

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (must be valid for practice in Texas)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• DCI/BVP certification as listed in job requirements
• License and certificate verification will be required prior to start
• Ability to complete Prime Core Competencies, Prime Specialty Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and related screenings
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings as listed, including COVID-19, TB testing, and drug screen
• Previous cath lab experience strongly preferred; strong procedural and critical care skills desirable

Education

• Active RN license required
• ADN or BSN acceptable; BSN preferred when available

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures and sterile technique
• Rhythm interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring
• Basic pharmacology related to cardiac meds and sedation
• Familiarity with cath lab equipment, monitors, and safety protocols
• Excellent patient assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced procedural environment and responding to emergent situations
