Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams accurately and efficiently to support patient diagnosis and care
• Prepare and position patients safely and comfortably for imaging procedures
• Operate and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment while ensuring image quality and adherence to protocol
• Document exam details and preliminary observations in the patient record in a timely manner
• Maintain infection control standards and follow facility safety procedures
• Verify patient identity, review order details, and confirm exam appropriateness prior to scanning
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to deliver coordinated patient care
• Complete required competency exams, checklists, and license verification processes

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• DCI/BVP certification as required by the facility
• License and certificate verification completed prior to start
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam as listed
• Successful completion of required drug screening and color-blind testing
• Up-to-date immunizations and testing: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, TB test or PPD/chest X-ray, Varicella, Tdap
• Fit test clearance and any facility-specific onboarding requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency operating diagnostic ultrasound equipment and producing high-quality images
• Strong patient care skills, including safe positioning and clear communication
• Familiarity with infection control practices and PPE
• Accurate clinical documentation and attention to detail
• Ability to follow protocols, exams checklists, and competency testing
• Teamwork and professional communication with multidisciplinary staff
• Time management and adaptability in a variable per-diem environment
