Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients, using strong assessment and clinical judgment
• Manage ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring and advanced life support interventions
• Administer medications and therapies safely and accurately following hospital protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during stressful ICU stays
• Maintain timely, thorough documentation in the electronic medical record and participate in shift handoffs
• Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license with ability to verify via Nursys
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU / critical care nursing experience
• Current AHA ACLS and BLS certifications (both required)
• Comfortable working night shifts and covering every other weekend
• Completion of required facility screenings and checklists: Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, Prime Specialty Exam
• Required health and safety items: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, TB test (Positive PPD with negative chest x-ray accepted), Varicella, Tdap, fit test, 10-panel drug screen, and a physical/health statement
• Willingness to complete DCI/BVP requirements and any facility-specific onboarding

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care knowledge: ventilator management, vasoactive drips, invasive monitoring
• Proven ACLS algorithm familiarity and emergency response skills
• Excellent patient assessment, prioritization and delegation abilities
• Comfortable with complex IV/central line care and titration of advanced therapies
• Effective verbal and written communication with families and care teams
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and timely documentation
