Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, high-quality nursing care in the cardiac cath lab and interventional radiology spaces
• Assess and monitor patients continuously, recording and communicating changes promptly
• Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans to support recovery
• Serve as the primary coordinator among disciplines for smooth, well-timed patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders accurately and safely during procedures
• Perform thorough documentation and handoffs to support continuity of care
• Support discharge planning and coordinate needs with the broader care team
• Participate in OR/IR coverage and respond to on-call duties as scheduled

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) credentialed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
• BLS Provider required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
• ACLS required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Nursys license verification
• 1-2 years of cumulative job-specific experience required; Cardiac Cath Lab and IR experience strongly preferred
• Comfort with OR/IR coverage and a willingness to participate in the on-call rotation (every 3rd weekend, ~16 on-calls/6 weeks)

Education

• Required professional licensure/certification (RN in Illinois) and 1-2 years of cumulative job-specific experience
• Specific degree (BSN/ADN) not specified in the job order

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and hemodynamic monitoring in the cath lab/IR environment
• Implementing and adjusting patient care plans during procedures
• Strong documentation and clear, timely communication with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with cath lab and interventional radiology workflows and sterile technique
• Ability to coordinate care across disciplines and support safe discharges
• Experience with Prime/core competency testing and specialty skill checklists is a plus
