Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients promptly and accurately using the nursing process
• Develop and implement individualized care plans that improve outcomes
• Provide direct bedside care, monitor cardiac status and respond to changes
• Communicate clinical changes to the care team and physicians effectively
• Teach patients and families to support safe discharge and self-care
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other disciplines to maintain high standards of care
• Float to telemetry or other units of competency as needed and contribute wherever care is needed most

Qualifications

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nursys verification listed)
• BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• Minimum 1 year acute care hospital experience (Med/Surg/Telemetry experience preferred)
• Meditech EMR experience is a plus
• Ability to respond quickly and accurately to patient condition changes

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical judgment in acute care settings
• Care planning, implementation and evaluation using the nursing process
• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation basics
• Patient and family education with clear, compassionate communication
• Strong teamwork, delegation and unit-based leadership skills
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar electronic medical records
