Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients using comprehensive critical care assessment techniques
- Develop individualized care plans and implement evidence-based interventions
- Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data and communicate changes to the team
- Provide direct ICU nursing care, including advanced monitoring and interventions
- Educate patients and families about condition, treatments, and progression
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes
- Respond rapidly and appropriately to clinical changes and emergencies
- Document care accurately and maintain patient privacy and safety standards
- Guide and support other nursing personnel during patient care activities
Qualifications
- Current, valid California RN license (state RN license required)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an RN in acute care critical care or ICU
- Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross)
- Current ACLS (AHA or Red Cross)
- NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications preferred or required per facility
- Ability to pass Prime checklists and exams (Basic Pharmacology, Core Competencies, Skills, Specialty)
- Compliance with standard health requirements (COVID-19 vaccine, TB testing, MMR, Hep B, Tdap, Varicella, fit testing, drug screen)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
- Experience with ICU nursing workflows and ventilator support
- Skilled in patient/family teaching and communication
- Familiarity with acute care documentation and assessment systems
- Comfort working night shifts and responding to rapid clinical changes
- Competence in medication administration and critical care procedures
