Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients using the nursing process and develop individualized care plans
• Provide direct patient care and coordinate implementation and evaluation of treatments
• Monitor cardiac status and diagnostic results and communicate changes to physicians promptly
• Deliver patient and family teaching to support recovery and safe discharge
• Maintain standards of care on the Med/Surg/Telemetry unit and supervise support staff as needed
• Document care accurately in the medical record and ensure compliance with facility protocols
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and urgent situations

Qualifications

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year acute care hospital experience
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• Nursys registration
• DCI/BVP certification listed in job requirements
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Ability and willingness to float to telemetry and other units of competency

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and development of care plans in acute care settings
• Direct patient care including medication administration and wound care
• Cardiac monitoring and recognition of dysrhythmias and acute changes
• Patient and family education to promote recovery and safe transitions
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical records
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond in high-acuity situations
