Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients using the nursing process and create individualized care plans
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Provide safe, direct patient care in Med/Surg/Telemetry with strong attention to detail
• Communicate clinical changes and diagnostic results to physicians clearly and promptly
• Deliver patient and family teaching that supports recovery and self-care
• Document care accurately in the assigned EMR (Meditech experience preferred)
• Participate in required competency testing and maintain certification requirements

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license (license verification via Nursys indicated)
• Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross)
• Current ACLS (AHA or Red Cross)
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications (listed in required certifications)
• Minimum 1 year previous Acute Care hospital experience
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Able to float to other units of competency as needed
• Must be able to pass pre-employment requirements: drug screen, color-blind test, TB screening, fit test, and provide required immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry nursing and cardiac monitoring expertise
• Strong patient assessment and care planning skills
• Acute care and Med/Surg clinical experience
• Proficiency with ACLS/BLS protocols and emergency response
• Comfortable using Meditech EMR (preferred)
• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and care teams
• Competency in Prime Basic Pharmacology, specialty skills, and core competencies
