Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging procedures with attention to image quality and patient comfort
- Operate CT scanners and related equipment safely and according to protocol
- Prepare patients for scanning including screening for contraindications and contrast needs
- Position patients and select technical parameters to ensure diagnostic-quality studies
- Follow radiation safety practices and maintain accurate dose documentation
- Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to support prompt, accurate diagnoses
- Maintain equipment cleanliness, stocking of supplies, and basic troubleshooting
- Complete required documentation and electronic health record entries in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Current CT certification or equivalent experience (CT skills listed as core requirement)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- DCI/BVP certification (as listed in the order) required
- License/Certificate Verification required prior to start
- Completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
- Ability to pass required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, TB, Varicella, Tdap) and drug screening
- Fit test and color-blind test as part of onboarding requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in CT imaging techniques and CT scanner operation
- Knowledge of contrast administration protocols and screening (DCI/BVP)
- Strong patient positioning and communication skills
- Understanding of radiation safety and dose reduction strategies
- Familiarity with electronic health records and exam documentation
- Infection control practices and adherence to required health screenings
- Ability to complete competency exams and specialty checklists
