Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients continuously using the nursing process — accurate assessment drives excellent care
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and evaluate outcomes
• Monitor hemodynamics, ventilators, and critical support devices and respond quickly to changes
• Administer medications and advanced interventions safely and according to protocols
• Communicate clearly with physicians and the interdisciplinary team about changes in patient condition
• Provide patient and family education and emotional support during high-acuity episodes
• Document care thoroughly and accurately in MEPIC EMR to maintain continuity and quality
• Guide and support other nursing personnel while upholding ICU standards of care

Qualifications

• Current and valid California RN license (required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Minimum of 1 year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital with critical care experience (required)
• MEPIC EMR experience (required)
• CCRN (Critical Care RN) certification preferred
• DCI/BVP and COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred
• Pass required pre-placement screenings: drug screen, TB/MMR/Varicella/Tdap as applicable, fit testing

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and monitoring skills
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of invasive lines
• Ventilator management fundamentals and titration per protocol
• Rhythm interpretation and emergency cardiac care
• Proficiency with MEPIC EMR — timely, accurate documentation
• Safe medication administration and titration in ICU settings
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making under pressure
• Infection control practices and adherence to hospital policies
