Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing to adult ICU patients, delivering safe, timely, and compassionate care
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and closely monitor hemodynamics and ventilator settings
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage complex infusions in accordance with protocols
• Lead and participate in code responses and emergent interventions when needed
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatments, and care transitions with empathy
• Maintain competency through Prime exams, skills checklists, and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Active RN license with verification via Nursys (or appropriate state licensure) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/critical care nursing experience
• ACLS (AHA) currently held
• BLS (AHA) currently held
• Required certifications and testing: DCI/BVP and completion of Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
• Compliance with required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, TB test, Varicella, Tdap, fit test, and a minimum 10-panel drug screen)
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend as required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Proficiency with ventilator management and advanced airway care
• Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of invasive lines
• Comfortable with rapid medication titration, vasopressors, and central line management
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Familiarity with Prime competency/testing processes and checklist-driven credentialing
• Strong documentation practices and familiarity with electronic medical records
