Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotating schedule with every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday coverage (12-hour night shifts). Weekend coverage may include blocks such as Fri 7:00 PM - Mon 7:00 AM as part of schedule expectations.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional, high-acuity ICU care for post-open-heart (CABG), neuro/stroke, and CRRT patients
- Operate and manage CRRT equipment and protocols safely and effectively
- Perform timely assessments, administer critical medications (including TNK when indicated), and respond to emergencies using ACLS/BLS guidelines
- Document patient care accurately in EPIC and maintain clear communication with the interdisciplinary team
- Support unit throughput by assisting across SICU, MICU and Neuro as patient needs dictate (floating)
- Participate in required competency exams and skills checks to maintain clinical readiness
- Educate patients and families about care plans and post-op recovery in a compassionate manner
- Adhere to infection control, vaccination, and screening requirements to keep patients and staff safe
Qualifications
- Current RN license (state registration verified via Nursys)
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification for stroke assessment required
- Experience caring for open-heart (CABG), neuro/stroke, and CRRT patients in a high-acuity ICU
- EPIC electronic health record experience is a must
- Willingness to float between SICU, MICU and Neuro units as needed
- Ability to complete required onboarding checks: drug screen, fit test, TB testing, and vaccination requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong familiarity with EPIC charting and documentation workflows
- Competence in CRRT setup, monitoring and troubleshooting
- Post-op cardiac (CABG) and neuro/stroke monitoring and care
- Proficient in ACLS/BLS emergency algorithms and rapid response
- Skilled in ventilator management basics and hemodynamic monitoring
- Comfortable performing NIHSS stroke assessments and administering TNK when indicated
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and rapid clinical decision-making
