Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity critical care for SICU/MICU/Neuro patients with expertise in open-heart and neuro postop care
• Manage Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and related therapies safely and effectively
• Use EPIC to document patient assessment, care plans, and medication administration with precision
• Lead timely recognition and response to changes in patient condition, escalating to interdisciplinary teams as needed
• Participate in bedside procedures and post-op care for CABG and other cardiothoracic patients
• Deliver stroke care, including NIHSS assessments and TNK administration workflows when indicated
• Support unit throughput and patient flow, including appropriate handoffs and discharge planning
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to drive excellent patient outcomes and family communication

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Nursys verification listed in order requirements)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• DCI/BVP credential listed as required
• Experience in high-acuity ICU settings (SICU, MICU, Neuro) with open-heart and CRRT exposure
• EPIC electronic medical record experience is a must
• Willingness to work every other weekend and every other holiday, with floating expectations
• Ability to complete required onboarding checks: drug screen, TB testing, immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap), fit test and physical/health statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and monitoring skills
• Proficiency with CRRT machinery and protocols
• Familiarity with cardiothoracic postop care (CABG, open-heart management)
• Stroke care knowledge including NIHSS scoring and TNK workflows
• Excellent EPIC documentation and electronic charting skills
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced ICU environments
• Ability to prioritize, triage, and manage multiple complex patients
