Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and rapidly assess patients arriving to the Emergency Department, prioritizing care based on acuity
• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care including cardioversion, TNK administration and moderate sedation support
• Collaborate with providers and the unit-based council to coordinate patient-focused care and improve workflows
• Document care accurately in Meditech and communicate clinical changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Maintain patient safety and 4:1 patient ratios through vigilant monitoring and timely interventions
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring peers, supporting CNCs and participating in self-scheduling

Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) credential — must be eligible to work in Texas
• Current BLS and ALS (ACLS) certifications
• Required: TNCC and ENPC or PALS (ALS/BLS/TNCC/ENPC or PALS listed as must-haves)
• Minimum 1 year Emergency Department nursing experience (2 years ED experience preferred)
• Experience with Meditech EMR is a plus
• Comfort with ED procedures such as cardioversion, TNK administration and moderate sedation
• Team-player attitude, flexibility, and a positive/upbeat demeanor

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency triage and assessment skills
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical records
• Competence in emergency procedures: cardioversion, thrombolytic (TNK) processes, and moderate sedation monitoring
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced ED environment and maintain 4:1 patient ratios
• Excellent communication and collaboration with providers and multidisciplinary teams
• Adaptability to fluctuating staffing and patient volumes
