Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ physical function and mobility to create individualized treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to restore mobility and reduce pain
- Monitor patient progress, adjust plans of care, and document outcomes in the medical record
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other rehab staff to ensure coordinated care
- Educate patients and families on home programs, safety strategies, and prevention
- Participate in orientation and unit-specific training to maintain high-quality care
Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist license in California (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required or obtain upon hire)
- Experience in acute care or medical-surgical settings preferred
- Ability to pass background check and any required facility clearances
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master's degree in Physical Therapy (per state requirements)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment, therapeutic exercise, gait training, and functional mobility work
- Comfortable with documentation in electronic medical records
- Knowledge of clinical safety practices, transfers, and fall prevention
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Time management skills for a busy inpatient caseload
