Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain sterile field and surgical instruments for procedures
Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently during operations
Perform instrument counts and document accurately to support patient safety
Collaborate closely with nurses, surgeons, and anesthesiology for smooth case flow
Assist with room turnover and reprocessing to keep the OR on schedule
Adhere to aseptic technique and facility protocols to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or completion of an accredited surgical tech program preferred
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain
Comfort working in an operating room environment and following sterile technique
Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to follow direction under pressure
Willingness to attend required orientation and credentialing for the facility

Education

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent training
High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

Familiarity with surgical instruments, sterile processing, and OR setup
Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control practices
Strong attention to detail for counts and documentation
Ability to anticipate procedural needs and act proactively
Professional communication with multidisciplinary surgical teams
