Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize patients to ensure timely treatment
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document all care accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the ED team to execute plans of care
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor for changes in condition
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care
• Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Hawaii or eligibility to obtain one
• Experience or strong interest in Emergency Department nursing (ED/ER)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills in fast-paced settings
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Nursing diploma, ADN, or BSN (BSN preferred where available)

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency patient assessment
• Acute care interventions and basic ED procedures
• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Ability to prioritize under pressure and manage multiple critical patients
• Familiarity with electronic medical record charting and clinical documentation
• Strong teamwork, collaboration, and patient-centered communication
