Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing for ICU patients, delivering high-quality bedside care
• Assess, monitor, and respond to acute changes in patient condition with urgency and confidence
• Administer medications, manage complex IV therapies, and follow advanced care protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to create and implement care plans
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and care plans with compassion
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, ability to obtain Hawaii RN license if not already held
• Prior ICU experience preferred; demonstrated comfort with critically ill patients
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and monitoring
• Ventilator management and advanced respiratory care
• IV push and infusion pump competency
• Familiarity with ICU equipment and telemetry
• Accurate EHR documentation and time management
• Strong patient/family communication and education skills
• Infection control and evidence-based critical care practices
