Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients with behavioral health needs
• Assess mental health status and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the treatment team
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses safely and accurately
• Perform therapeutic interventions and de-escalation techniques when appropriate
• Document clinical observations, interventions, and progress in the medical record clearly and timely
• Coordinate care and communicate effectively with psychiatrists, social workers, and support staff
• Participate in orientation and unit training to support continuous improvement and patient safety

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New Hampshire license required or compact privilege where applicable)
• Experience or strong interest in behavioral health/psychiatric nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications welcomed
• Ability to perform therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques
• Comfort working as part of an interdisciplinary behavioral health team
• Professional, patient-centered approach with strong documentation skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/ASN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of behavioral health conditions, interventions, and safety protocols
• Skilled in medication administration and monitoring
• Strong assessment and clinical judgment abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Competence in electronic medical records documentation
