Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain the sterile field and surgical instruments before, during, and after procedures
Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and anticipating needs throughout cases
Perform instrument counts and document procedures accurately
Ensure all equipment is clean, functional, and ready for the next case
Adhere to infection control, safety, and facility policies at all times
Communicate clearly with nurses, surgeons, and support staff to keep cases running smoothly

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or completed accredited surgical technologist program preferred
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or ability to obtain
Prior OR experience preferred; new grads who completed clinical rotations are encouraged to apply
Ability to pass facility credentialing and background checks
Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail

Education

Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent training

Knowledge & Skills

Familiarity with sterile technique and operating room protocols
Knowledge of surgical instruments, supplies, and terminology
Ability to maintain accurate counts and documentation
Comfort working in fast-paced, high-stakes clinical environments
Strong organizational skills and proactive problem solving
