Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide timely, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
• Perform rapid assessments, triage, and prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, and transport teams to coordinate patient flow
• Document patient care thoroughly and communicate changes in condition to the care team
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in the State of Hawaii (or compact privileges where applicable)
• Prior Emergency Department nursing experience preferred (ED/ER skills expected)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills in acute care
• Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced settings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in emergency assessment, triage, and stabilization techniques
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, wound care, and monitoring
• Comfortable with rapid decision-making and multitasking under pressure
• Clear communicator with strong documentation and handoff practices
• Team-oriented mindset with experience in dynamic, high-volume clinical environments
