Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, including rotating weekends

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert nursing care to critically ill surgical patients in a fast-paced SICU
Monitor and manage advanced hemodynamics, ventilators, and vasoactive medications
Perform procedures such as chest tube management, central line care, and intubation assistance
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery expectations
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Meditech system

Qualifications

Active Texas RN license required (no temporary licenses accepted)
Minimum 2-3 years of recent ICU experience
ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Certification required
Strong critical thinking and communication skills
Willingness to float to other units as needed

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in critical care nursing and patient assessment
Experience with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and IABP/CRRT preferred
Familiarity with Meditech electronic health record system a plus
Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and collaborate effectively
