Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 4-hour shifts, schedule varies (exact start/end times and days to be confirmed with facility); Pre-op (Pediatrics). Orientation included.

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate pre-operative nursing care for pediatric patients, preparing them physically and emotionally for procedures
Perform pre-op assessments and screenings, ensuring patient safety and proper documentation
Collaborate closely with surgical, anesthesia and perioperative teams to coordinate efficient patient flow
Educate children and their families about pre-op instructions, procedures and post-op expectations in an age-appropriate way
Support a calm, child-friendly environment and advocate for each patient’s needs during the pre-op process

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington or ability to obtain licensure
Experience in pre-operative nursing and working with pediatric patients (pre-op pediatrics experience preferred)
Comfort working in a fast-paced surgical environment and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification recommended; ability to obtain any facility-required certifications

Knowledge & Skills

Strong pediatric assessment and communication skills
Familiarity with pre-op procedures, medication administration and documentation
Ability to educate and reassure pediatric patients and their families
Teamwork, adaptability and attention to detail in perioperative settings
Electronic health record documentation and basic clinical tech skills
