Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage and prioritize patients quickly and accurately in the emergency setting
• Stabilize and provide acute care for patients with a wide range of medical and trauma needs
• Administer medications and interventions safely, following protocols and physician orders
• Document care thoroughly in the patient record and communicate changes promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up plans with compassion
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Clinical experience in Emergency Department/ER preferred
• Comfort working 12.5-hour clinical shifts in a fast-paced environment
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and team communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Acute patient assessment and rapid decision-making
• Triage and emergency stabilization techniques
• IV access, medication administration and monitoring
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
• Ability to work collaboratively in high-pressure situations
• Strong patient/family communication and education skills
