Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care accurately and courteously in resident charts and shift reports
• Help create a comfortable, dignified environment that promotes resident independence
• Collaborate with the care team to follow care plans and participate in resident-focused activities

Qualifications

• Current GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification
• CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience working with older adults or in long-term care settings preferred
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a team-first attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to resident safety and dignity

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting) with compassion
• Basic resident observation and reporting skills
• Safe transfer and fall-prevention techniques
• Infection control and hand hygiene best practices
• Accurate documentation and time management during shifts
• Team collaboration and effective communication with nursing staff and families
