Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, supporting daily living activities with dignity
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility to keep residents comfortable and safe
• Take and record vital signs and report changes in condition promptly to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly with the care team and family members
• Support a positive, home-like environment by engaging residents in conversation and activities
• Follow facility policies, infection control procedures, and resident safety protocols

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) valid in Maryland
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or required per facility policy
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility health requirements
• Compassionate demeanor, good communication skills, and ability to work well in a team
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and elder care basics
• Competence in taking vital signs and observing clinical changes
• Reliable documentation and basic charting skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents
• Basic infection control and safe patient handling techniques
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during a shift
