Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Flexible days, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care and assistance with activities of daily living
Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility in a respectful manner
Monitor residents and promptly report changes in condition to nursing staff
Document care accurately and timely to support continuity and safety
Support mealtimes and help ensure proper nutrition and hydration
Collaborate with the care team to create a comfortable, dignified environment

Qualifications

GNA certification or completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program
Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Comfort working with older adults in long-term care or similar settings
Strong communication and teamwork skills with a resident-first attitude
Ability to perform physical tasks required for direct care (standing, lifting, assisting mobility)

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of GNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-centered support
Basic clinical skills: vital signs, personal care, feeding assistance
Accurate charting and attention to detail when documenting care
Ability to recognize and report changes in resident condition
Compassionate interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
