Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare, administer, and accurately document prescribed medications to ensure patient safety
- Change dressings and provide expert wound care to promote healing and prevent infection
- Insert and manage catheters, and start IVs as needed for treatment and hydration
- Adjust and monitor specialized medical equipment, interpreting readings and recording measurements
- Monitor patients vital signs closely and report any adverse reactions or concerning trends promptly
- Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings to the care team to guide treatment
Qualifications
- 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience required
- NIHSS certification noted in the profile; facility provides a link and will review applicants who may not have active copies
- Experience with medication administration, IV therapy and insertion, wound care, and catheterization
- Strong patient monitoring and assessment abilities, with clear documentation skills
- Willingness to complete facility onboarding and credentialing requirements for travel staff
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)
- Relevant certifications as required by facility (NIHSS link provided)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in medication administration and accurate medication record keeping
- Proficient with IV therapy, IV starts, and catheter care
- Knowledgeable in wound care techniques and dressing changes
- Adept at vital signs monitoring and interpreting patient data
- Comfortable adjusting and interpreting readings from specialized medical equipment
- Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment
