Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the operating room for vascular and endovascular procedures
• Prepare and maintain sterile field and instrumentation specific to vascular surgery
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and the multidisciplinary team during trauma and high-acuity cases
• Respond quickly and professionally to level 1 trauma activations and emergent surgical needs
• Anticipate surgical team needs and manage supplies and specialized equipment efficiently
• Document patient care clearly and accurately to support continuity and quality outcomes
• Mentor and support other staff and travel nurses to maintain high unit standards
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and procedural outcomes

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with current licensure — Georgia RN or valid compact privilege preferred
• Proven OR experience with strong vascular and endovascular case exposure
• Significant experience in a Level 1 trauma center (large level 1 trauma experience required/preferred)
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred (show in work history)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and CNOR preferred
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and participate in call coverage; no block scheduling

Education

• Nursing diploma, ADN or BSN (active RN license required)

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of vascular and endovascular instrumentation and procedures
• Expertise in sterile technique, perioperative patient safety and trauma protocols
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization and critical-thinking skills in high-acuity settings
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced OR environments
• Ability to adapt quickly to different OR teams and workflows as a travel nurse
• Comfort with perioperative documentation and handoff practices
