Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients across multiple acuity levels (MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU)
• Safely titrate vasoactive and other critical drips (pressors, sedation, paralytics, insulin, heparin) and manage hemodynamic support
• Provide ventilator management and troubleshoot respiratory needs alongside RTs, including high-flow, BiPAP/CPAP and ventilator care
• Operate and document care in Epic charting system accurately and timely
• Interpret telemetry strips and act promptly on rhythm changes and hemodynamic instability
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, step into charge responsibilities when needed, and maintain situational awareness while floating
• Adapt to different unit workflows quickly during float assignments and support continuity of care across facilities

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible to practice in Colorado (state licensure required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience (if first-time travel nurse: 3+ years ICU experience required)
• Epic experience required for first-time travelers; Epic familiarity preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications and NIHSS required
• Comfortable titrating critical drips and managing advanced cardiac and respiratory support (pressors, CRRT, IABP/Impella familiarity is a plus)
• Ability and willingness to float across Zone 1 facilities within a 60-mile radius; valid driver's license required
• Night shift experience and ability to work scheduled weekend and holiday rotations as needed

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Diploma in Nursing, or BSN
• BSN not required for this role

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and clinical decision-making
• Ventilator management and respiratory troubleshooting
• CRRT and management of renal replacement therapies
• Titration of vasoactive medications and complex drip management
• Telemetry interpretation and acute cardiac rhythm recognition
• Proficient Epic documentation and electronic charting workflows
• Comfort functioning independently on units without monitor tech coverage
