Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify medication orders promptly and accurately to ensure patient safety
• Compound sterile IV preparations and verify Dose Edge entries with precision
• Provide therapeutic dosing for vancomycin, aminoglycosides and anticoagulants
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians, including Pyxis and Pak Edge checks
• Perform medication reconciliation and first-dose checks for high-risk patients
• Collaborate with clinical teams on pain consults and optimize medication therapy
• Document clinical interventions clearly in Meditech and communicate recommendations

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Licensed to practice pharmacy in Missouri (MO) (required)
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience (as listed)
• BLS and ACLS preferred
• NICU experience a plus
• Experience supervising pharmacy technicians and sterile compounding experience

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication verification best practices and strong attention to detail
• Experience with Dose Edge for sterile compounding verification
• Familiarity with Pyxis and Pak Edge automated systems
• Comfort documenting and working in Meditech EMR
• Proficiency in therapeutic dosing: vancomycin, aminoglycosides, anticoagulants
• Ability to lead and train pharmacy technicians effectively
• Clinical consultation skills for pain management and emergency medication response
• Sterile IV compounding and aseptic technique knowledge
