Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and confidently in a fast-paced ER environment
• Deliver evidence-based nursing care for acute and emergency presentations
• Respond to codes and emergencies, performing life-saving interventions as needed
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses accurately and safely
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the care team to develop and execute treatment plans
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly and professionally
• Maintain certifications and complete required competency exams and checklists for the assignment

Qualifications

• Active RN license with Nursys verification (must be eligible to work in New Jersey)
• Current BLS required
• ACLS required
• PALS required
• NRP required
• NIHSS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Experience in Emergency Room (ER) settings preferred; travel nursing experience a plus
• Completion of facility-required screenings and health requirements (vaccines, TB, drug screen, fit test, etc.)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Proficient in rhythm interpretation and basic pharmacology
• Comfortable with rapid decision-making and high-acuity care
• Skilled in stroke assessment (NIHSS) and neonatal/ pediatric protocols as applicable (PALS/NRP)
• Excellent communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary settings
• Ability to complete competency exams and specialty checklists
