Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality peri-procedural nursing care for cardiac catheterization procedures
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and the procedural team to ensure smooth case flow
• Monitor hemodynamic status and rhythm interpretation during procedures and respond promptly to changes
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure all equipment and supplies are ready and functioning
• Educate patients and families about procedures, post-procedure care and discharge instructions
• Document care accurately and complete required competency checklists and exams
• Participate in unit-based safety and quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (ability to verify license/certification as required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
• DCI/BVP certification required (as listed by the facility)
• Completion of required facility screening: drug screen, TB testing, immunizations and fit test
• Previous Cath Lab or interventional cardiology experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to work in a fast-paced procedural environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven Cath Lab procedural knowledge (catheterization workflows, sterile field management)
• Rhythm interpretation and cardiac monitoring (Prime Basic Rhythm Interpretation screening listed)
• Hemodynamic assessment and familiarity with invasive monitoring
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot common Cath Lab equipment
• Excellent communication, teamwork and patient education skills
• Comfortable with competency exams and skills checklists to demonstrate proficiency
