Shift type: Day with rotating weekend/holiday coverage and floating expectations when ICU census is low.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-acuity critical care to SICU, MICU and Neuro patients, including post-open-heart and CABG care
• Manage and monitor CRRT therapy and associated hemodynamics with precision
• Assess and act quickly for stroke patients, including familiarity with TNK protocols and NIHSS assessments
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to maintain continuity of care
• Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, therapists and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Respond to emergencies and participate in bedside procedures as needed
• Support unit flexibility by floating to other ICU areas when census requires
• Complete required competency exams, skills checklists and unit-specific training to maintain high standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license with Nursys verification (required)
• Critical care experience in ICU settings with open heart, neuro and CRRT exposure
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification or demonstrated stroke assessment experience
• Comfortable using EPIC for charting and documentation
• Willingness to complete facility onboarding requirements: drug screen, fit test, immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap), TB testing and physical/health statement
• Ability to work rotating schedules, every other weekend and holidays, and to float between units when needed

Knowledge & Skills

• CRRT operation, monitoring and troubleshooting
• Post-operative cardiac care including CABG and open-heart patient management
• Neurological assessment and stroke care, including NIHSS scoring and TNK administration familiarity
• Strong critical care assessment skills: ventilator management, vasoactive drips and hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficient documentation and workflows in EPIC
• Team communication, delegation and crisis resource management
• Ability to pass Prime competency and specialty exams as required
