Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate emergency nursing care using the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate)
• Perform rapid patient assessment and triage to prioritize care in a busy ED
• Administer medications and manage telemetry-based patient monitoring
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC EMR
• Communicate clinical changes and diagnostic results clearly to physicians and care team
• Maintain compliance with EMTALA and report suspected child/adult abuse as required
• Provide patient and family education while protecting patient privacy/confidentiality
• Guide and collaborate with other nursing personnel to uphold professional standards

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license (required)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required)
• NIHSS/Stroke certification preferred
• EDAP 1 and EDAP 2 training (required)
• BVP (MAB) training required; DCI/BVP and NRP listed in certifications
• EPIC EMR experience (required)
• Previous emergency department and telemetry experience preferred
• Must meet employer health requirements (COVID-19 vaccination, MMR, Hepatitis B, TB test/PPD, Varicella, Tdap, influenza, fit testing, drug screen)

Education

• Current and valid RN license (state Registered Nurse) — specific degree not specified

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and triage skills
• Working knowledge of telemetry care and monitoring
• Familiarity with EMTALA regulations and reporting protocols
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR documentation and workflows
• Medication administration and medication safety practices
• Ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in clinical condition
• Patient/family teaching and effective clinical communication
• Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality
