Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures with attention to safety and patient comfort
- Operate imaging equipment and follow established protocols for quality imaging
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals following DCI/BVP and safety standards
- Document procedures, results, and patient information accurately in EPIC
- Maintain radiation safety practices and perform routine equipment quality checks
- Collaborate with technologists, nurses, and physicians to support timely patient care
- Participate in required competency exams and specialty checklists to ensure proficiency
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of nuclear medicine experience (acute care experience preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- DCI/BVP certification as required by the facility
- License/certificate verification as part of onboarding
- Experience using EPIC or similar electronic health record systems
- Successful completion of employer-required screenings: drug screen, TB testing, immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza), fit test, and others listed
- Willingness to complete Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of nuclear medicine imaging techniques and radiopharmaceutical handling
- Familiarity with EPIC for documentation and order workflow
- Strong patient communication and bedside manner
- Knowledge of radiation safety and infection control practices
- Attention to detail for accurate documentation and QC tasks
- Ability to work independently in a per diem setting and adapt to variable schedules
