Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across the lifespan, including assessment and treatment
• Manage and troubleshoot ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment with confidence
• Perform airway management, oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and pulmonary hygiene
• Respond rapidly to respiratory emergencies and support code responses when needed
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans
• Document patient care, interventions, and responses accurately and timely
• Complete required competencies, skills checklists, and core exams to maintain clinical excellence
• Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital safety standards at all times

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license (state licensure required)
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• DCI/BVP certification as listed in the posting
• Willingness and ability to pass Prime drug screen (minimum 10-panel), TB testing, and required immunizations
• Flexibility with scheduling — must be comfortable with night shifts, every-other-weekend, and holiday rotations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work independently when needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and weaning protocols
• Airway management and emergency respiratory interventions
• Pediatric (PALS) and neonatal (NRP) respiratory care knowledge
• Proficiency with respiratory equipment, monitoring, and documentation systems
• Infection control practices and familiarity with fit testing procedures
• Comfortable completing competency exams and skills checklists
