Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across the lifespan, including assessment and treatment
- Manage and troubleshoot ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment with confidence
- Perform airway management, oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and pulmonary hygiene
- Respond rapidly to respiratory emergencies and support code responses when needed
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans
- Document patient care, interventions, and responses accurately and timely
- Complete required competencies, skills checklists, and core exams to maintain clinical excellence
- Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital safety standards at all times
Qualifications
- Active Respiratory Therapist license (state licensure required)
- Current BLS, PALS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- DCI/BVP certification as listed in the posting
- Willingness and ability to pass Prime drug screen (minimum 10-panel), TB testing, and required immunizations
- Flexibility with scheduling — must be comfortable with night shifts, every-other-weekend, and holiday rotations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work independently when needed
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and weaning protocols
- Airway management and emergency respiratory interventions
- Pediatric (PALS) and neonatal (NRP) respiratory care knowledge
- Proficiency with respiratory equipment, monitoring, and documentation systems
- Infection control practices and familiarity with fit testing procedures
- Comfortable completing competency exams and skills checklists
