Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-ray exams accurately and efficiently to support timely patient care
- Position patients and equipment with attention to comfort and radiation safety
- Produce high-quality images and verify image clarity before submission
- Adhere to infection control, immunization, and safety protocols at all times
- Maintain clear, professional communication with radiologists, nurses, and patients
- Complete required competency exams and specialty checklists to demonstrate proficiency
- Verify and maintain licensure/certification documentation as required by the facility
Qualifications
- Current X-Ray technologist certification/credential as required by state/facility
- BLS certification (required)
- DCI/BVP certification (required)
- Successful License/Certificate Verification prior to start
- Completion of facility-required screenings: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza, TB testing (PPD/Chest X-ray), and a 10-panel drug screen
- Ability to pass Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
- Fit test completion for respiratory protection where applicable
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning and X-ray imaging techniques
- Familiarity with radiation safety principles and ALARA practices
- Competence in operating digital imaging equipment and processing systems
- Patient-centered care skills, including communication and comfort measures
- Ability to follow protocols, documentation standards, and quality control procedures
- Comfort working independently during night shifts and adapting to variable schedules
