Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately, reporting any changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices when needed
• Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to residents and their families
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control practices and facility procedures
• Document care activities clearly and timely to ensure continuity and quality of care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid for Pennsylvania
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and TB testing per facility policy
• Up-to-date immunizations as required by the facility
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Reliable, professional, and committed to resident-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and safety practices
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control and PPE use
• Comfortable assisting with transfers, ambulation, and mobility aids
• Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
• Effective communication with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
