Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult Med-Surg/Telemetry patients, monitoring cardiac rhythms and responding to changes promptly
• Administer medications and IV therapy safely using Alaris pumps and document care accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and carry out patient-centered care plans
• Perform thorough assessments, recognize patient deterioration early, and escalate concerns when needed
• Provide compassionate post-surgical and chronic disease care (diabetes, HF, HTN, cancer) with attention to patient dignity
• Support unit flow by accepting appropriate float assignments to 6E, acute rehab, and geriatric psych when needed
• Model professionalism and adherence to unit policies (including fingernail/artificial nail policy) to maintain a safe environment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for Nebraska submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience (Med-Surg/Telemetry experience preferred)
• Current BLS certification required at time of submittal
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and IV therapy skills; experience with Alaris IV pumps a plus
• Valid driver’s license required at submittal (used to confirm radius eligibility)
• Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and cultural sensitivity to serve a diverse patient population

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records and accurate charting practices
• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring familiarity
• Competence in IV therapy and medication administration using Alaris pumps
• Strong assessment skills for Med-Surg and post-operative adult patients
• Ability to adapt when floating to acute rehab and geriatric psych environments
• Good communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and diverse patient populations
