Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Night: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Schedule: 72 hours every two weeks (commonly 3x12-hour shifts per week). Rotations include days, nights and weekends as scheduled.

Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care in a 9-bed adult ICU environment
- Manage patient assignments with safe nurse-to-patient ratios, escalating to 1:1 when indicated
- Monitor and assess critically ill patients, interpret data and implement evidence-based interventions
- Serve as a dependable team member during med/surg overflow situations while maintaining patient safety
- Perform charge nurse duties when assigned, coordinating staffing and patient flow
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to transfer unstable pediatric patients to higher level care when necessary
- Float to other departments as needed to support unit operations without taking a team of patients
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted RN license or eligible for Hawaii licensure
- PALS certification is required
- Experience working in an adult ICU or critical care setting
- Comfort and experience with 12-hour shift schedules and varied patient assignments
- Ability to function as charge nurse when assigned and support unit staffing needs
- Willingness to float to other departments to assist as needed
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in acute care situations
- Familiarity with patient assignment ratios and safe workload management
- Skilled in adult ICU care with the ability to manage med/surg overflow patients
- Effective communication and teamwork within a multidisciplinary care team
- Ability to prioritize, triage and escalate concerns for patient safety
